Priorities

Education

Woonsocket and North Smithfield teachers and students deserve a safe environment to learn, teach, and grow. The funding formula needs to be re-evaluated to ensure that all school districts are being funded fairly and equitably.

Career and technical education is a key to ensuring our students have a future that can withstand economic ebbs and flows. Funding for CTE should be increased and programs expanded to offer courses for emerging industries like renewable energy and electric vehicle mechanics.

Environment

Northern RI has some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire state. It’s important that we preserve it to ensure that it’s protected from development, pollution, and invasive species.

The Blackstone River was vital to the development of the district, but it was heavily polluted during the process. We must protect is from further pollution and work to remediate some of the harm done.

Economic Development

After the demise of the industrial revolution, Northern RI was left with empty mills and the loss of many jobs. Woonsocket and North Smithfield need strategic economic development to create well paying jobs, provide much needed tax revenue, and attract visitors from neighboring towns and states.
